- Popular session for generating research projects for Emergency Medicine residents and faculty members - several studies already completed and presented/published

Longitudinal Medical Simulation Curriculum
- Innovative curriculum covering key aspects of resuscitation
- Core resuscitation areas: Adult Cardiac (ACLS), Pediatric (PALS/APLS), and Traumatic (ATLS) emergencies
- Weekly, rotating participation in simulation sessions by EM residents
- Simulations developed from actual cases from our ED

ECG Competency Program
- Comprehensive program focusing on key ECG diagnoses and interpretation skills

- Voluntary program for top performers in ECG Competency Program
- Monthly ECG packets, ECG knowledge/criteria exams, teaching component
Competency Days
- Semi-annual sessions (December/April) incorporating oral exams, written exams, practical ultrasound exams, and oral case exams
- Focus on RRC Chief Complaint Competencies, ECG interpretation, ultrasound skills, procedural techniques, wellness/sleep/fatigue issues, and documentation/coding
Skills Day Sessions
- Focused sessions featuring a variety of procedural and ultrasound skills
- Led by EM faculty and medical simulation center staff
- Wide variety of procedures – examples include: suturing, ultrasound-guided central line placement, cardiac pacing, simulated cases/mock codes, fish-hook removal, wilderness medicine assessment and techniques, advanced airway management, chest tubes, lumbar puncture, T-pod pelvic fracture stabilization device placement, splinting and casting, nasopharyngolaryngoscopy, slit lamp skills, and many more

Suturing Skills/Speed Competition
This annual competition pits our residents against each other in an old-fashioned "suture-off". Residents participate in head-to-head contests with the winner advancing to the next round of competition. Faculty judges time each suturing session and grade the quality of each resident's suturing. The final round of competition is a spirited session with tremendous energy and enthusiasm as the residents cheer their colleagues on. And, as always, the winner receives FABULOUS PRIZES!

SAFE/DOVE Program
- The DOVE Team is affiliated with the area’s foremost community domestic violence organization, ACCESS-York.
- Multiple research projects are currently underway.
- Because domestic violence is so pervasive within society, residents learn how to provide excellent documentation and photo-documenting for domestic violence cases in conjunction with the DOVE nurses.
